I got bit by the storytelling bug early.
Growing up in northern Louisiana, I enjoyed storytelling at a young age.
Inspired by my love of books, I began penning screenplays and performed them in the backyard of my family’s home.
To get people to attend those productions, I incorporated grassroots marketing efforts such as flyers, church bulletins, and word-of-mouth.
My copywriting obsession elevates.
My fascination with marketing and publicity continued in my senior year of high school when I convinced my cousin to run for Ms. Sophomore.
Persuading her peers to cast their vote for her presented some challenges, but galvanizing the vote of the upperclassmen was an even daunting task because they had no idea who she was.
Implementing strategies that get’s the win.
So, I developed a massive campaign to build a tribe of followers which included speeches before the student body, posters mounted all over campus, and fundraising initiatives, to name just a few.
As a result of those efforts, she became Ms. Sophomore Maid.
I began honing my writing skills.
After high school, I retired my screenplay pen and started scribing legal materials, instead. I spent 20-years in the legal industry working for large international law firms such as Latham & Watkins and King & Spalding, and five years as a credit card investigator at Union Bank – which attributes to my discipline to meet demanding deadlines.
During my collegiate experience at Agnes Scott College, I served in various leadership roles: Public Relations President, Pre-law Club Co-President, Senior Class Representative, and Associate Board of Trustees. You see, managing projects aren’t something new to me. In fact, I thrive best when faced with exciting challenges.
Eventually, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Africana Studies and a Paralegal Certification from Boston University.
Words allow me to bring value to clients globally.
My flexible freelance career enables me to serve clients remotely – no matter where they live. Today, my active-duty spouse and I currently reside in the bustling Blue Ridge Mountains of Charlottesville, Virginia.
When I’m not cranking out content, you’ll find me in front of my sewing machine creating faux fur handbags, exploring my Canon T3i camera, or spending quality time with my spouse and Shih Tzu dog, Patches.
